Experiences at the University

The Center of Excellence in Fungal Research opens the opportunity to work with the pillars of mycological research. I started with a basic knowledge of mycology but the center introduces different analysis, mostly phylogeny, which is essential in taxonomic classification of fungi. Working with the great minds motivate me to do better in the field and contribute to the existing knowledge of fungal world. What I learned from the center is the value of hardwork also. I will cherish the experience I had in the center and I will surely miss everyone.

Experiences after leaving the University

I work as a (profession) in a research academe in the Philippines. Mostly my current research focuses on the taxonomy and phylogeny of aquatic fungi in the Philippines. I am collaborating also with the chemists to examine the bioactive compounds from marine fungi.

Alumni wisdom

Focus and organize every laboratory works you have, and your data also. Always keep your feet on the ground. I know its hard to cope up but you will realize that it is part of the process of becoming the best version of yourself, of becoming a good mycologist!
