Experiences at the University

The Center of Excellence in Fungal Research is a pioneer organisation focusing on fungal research, training of future fellow mycologists and community development. While enhancing the profile of Mae Fah Luang University, the centre is a leading academic establishment in Asia. Students have the opportunity to work and collaborate with scientists with different backgrounds such as plant pathology, molecular biologists and chemists. The PhD programme appealed to me as my research work focused on the application of bioinformatics tools for species delineation while having hands-on experience in the laboratory. The centre published over 500 SCI research articles in 2016 and continue to publish high impact research every year. This is therefore an excellent platform to train future mycologists to be among the best in the world.

Alumni wisdom

Keep up to date with research in science and in your area of interest. The path to PhD is not an easy one, but during the journey you will grow mentally and as an independent researcher, so enjoy the challenge!
